Bluetick Coonhound
 The Bluetick Coonhound is a variety of coonhound, so named for the speckled pattern or "ticking" found in its markings which give the fur a blue effect. This hunting dog has a short dense coat that requires little grooming. Bluetick Coonhounds need ample space to run, daily exercise and are said to thrive in a house with other dogs. The low hanging ears of the Bluetick must get routine cleaning to prevent infection.
