Chinook
The Chinook is a rare breed of American sled dog, developed in the early 1900's by explorer and author Arthur Walden. Walden is said to have desired tremendous power, endurance, speed and friendly nature in the breed, so he purchased a mastiff-type dog bred it with a Husky. The Chinook can weigh up to 100 pounds, but do not typically mature until about age 3 or 4. They are extremely loyal and happiest when with the family.
