As with most quick-release collars, this collar is not recommended for tie-out (tying dog to a fixed object).
Many embellished dog collars on the market are made of nylon webbing with a design fabric sewn on top. Given the multi-layer construction and the water-retaining properties of nylon, this type of collar is prone to retaining moisture, dirt, and eventually, mold and mildew. Our dog collars are made of a single layer of polyester on which the design is permanently infused. Polyester is hydrophobic which means that it is water resistant. Many performance-wear garments are made of, or contain, polyester. Cleaning these collars is easy. One of our customers actually called it "self-cleaning."
